Welding and Fabrication Safety
Wear the correct PPE for hot work: a welding helmet with the right shade, flame-resistant clothing, gloves, and respiratory protection where fumes are present. Keep the work area clear, screen off arc flash from other workers, and keep a fire extinguisher within reach. Inspect leads, hoses, and regulators before each use.
Lifting and Rigging Safety
Know the weight of the load and the rated capacity of your slings, hooks, and hoists before lifting. Inspect rigging for wear or damage, keep hands and body clear of pinch points, never stand under a suspended load, and use tag lines to control it. Do not exceed rated capacities.
Electrical Safety and Lockout/Tagout
Before servicing any powered equipment, de-energize it and apply lockout/tagout so it cannot start while you work. Verify zero energy before touching electrical or moving parts, and remove your own lock only when the work is complete and everyone is clear.
