You know who Rotech is, what each line replaces, and how to get a quote moving. Next time you see a Goulds 3196, a Gorman-Rupp T or U series, or an old split case nobody wants to repipe, think Rotech.
Rotech makes drop-in pumps that fit what's already in the plant
Seven parts on who Rotech is, what each line replaces, the features you'll sell on, and how to work with them. Work through them in order: two quick checks at the end confirm you've got it. Your progress saves on this device.
Test loop being built in Houston for witness testing
The pitch: Rotech calls itself the "Goldilocks" option. Legacy makers (Goulds, Flowserve, Sulzer, Xylem) have the engineering but can be slow. Typical aftermarket suppliers are fast but don't control their quality. Rotech designs and builds its own parts, so it can move fast without giving up quality.
Not a copy: parts fit Goulds and Gorman-Rupp pumps, but Rotech engineered each one from scratch and tested the hydraulics. Performance comes from the vane angles, not from looking the same. That's the difference from the cheap replicas that gave aftermarket pumps a bad name.
India plant: Rotech's Indian plant is about 8 miles from the Goulds (ITT) plant in India. They share vendors and engineers, and Rotech benchmarks itself against Goulds. The plant is ISO 9001 certified.
Houston: moved to a new building in January 2026. It's becoming a training and test center, with hands-on distributor training planned for early 2027.
Heavier, not cheaper-made: Rotech's castings weigh more than the industry average on average. Their lower cost comes from doing the work in-house, not from using less metal.
Case study: 25 pump ends in about 10 weeks
EOG Resources: a 30-week OEM lead time beaten by a pump designed from scratch.
EOG Resources in Texas had cast iron MP pumps on produced water. They needed stainless, the OEM quoted 30 weeks, and the plant couldn't repipe. Rotech reverse-engineered the pump, cast it in stainless and shipped 25 pump ends that dropped into the existing piping, in roughly 10–12 weeks.
"Let us tell you no." Rotech asked us not to decide for them that something can't be done. If a spec, material or lead time looks impossible, ask. People are often surprised what they can do.
In the recording: company history from about 0:04, the EOG case study 2:59.
Part 2 · ANSI line
Goulds-interchangeable ANSI pumps, and a close-coupled version nobody else makes
ANSI B73.1: same footprint and dimensions across makers.
ANSI B73.1 (from the 1970s) made every maker's process pumps share dimensions and footprint. Goulds and Flowserve (Durco) hold most of the installed base. Rotech's goal: when you sell a new ANSI pump into a plant, the plant's old spare parts don't become obsolete. Open each product. Green dots show the ones you've read.
Frame-mounted process pump1196: the Goulds 3196 equivalent
Why Rotech ANSI, from the presentation.
Interchangeable
Part-to-part and hydraulically with the Goulds 3196. (A separate repair line covers Goulds-equivalent parts and shaft kits.)
Sizes
Full ANSI range, including the newer 3x4-17
Stocked materials
Ductile iron, 316 stainless and duplex stainless. Other alloys are cast to order.
Standard features
Ductile iron power end, bronze labyrinth seals inboard and outboard, casing drilled and tapped for Plan 11 flush and drain. Seals from Rotech come as four-port cartridge seals.
Power ends
New carbon steel and stainless power ends, built per project now; stock in Houston planned by the new year
NSF 61

Interchangeable
Goulds 3196LF, Summit 2196LF, Peerless 8196LF
Impeller
Radial vane, for low flow at high pressure
Applications
Oil and gas, refineries, boiler feed, condensate, high-pressure process, hot oil, sea water
Flagship · Rotech exclusive1296: an ANSI pump close-coupled to a motor
1296 specifications.
Rotech's best seller, made since 2012. It uses the 1196's wetted parts on a JM motor, so it has the same hydraulics and fits the same ANSI piping. A 33-part bill of materials becomes six parts.
Performance
Up to 2,500 gpm, 400 ft, 200°F and 300 psi. Sizes up to 8x10-15G.
Motor limit
60 hp maximum (JM motor)
Seals
Single or double component, single or double cartridge, or gland packing. Double cartridge seals work with almost any API plan. Rotech says it's the only close-coupled pump that takes all of these.
Build
Made to ANSI B73.1 tolerances, with walls about ½″–¾″ thick (most close-coupled pumps are around ¼″)
Parts
Common seals and motors, nothing proprietary. Plants can stock one seal size for both frame-mounted and close-coupled pumps.
The selling points, in Rotech's words.
Sell it as a better close-coupled pump, not just an ANSI pump. No coupling, guard, base frame or field alignment, and it's bored and keyed, so accidental reverse rotation won't hurt it. Rotech prices it close to ordinary close-coupled pumps. Customers have repiped just to get one, because it ships in about a week.
Close-coupled low flow1296LF
1296LF specifications.
The low-flow radial-vane design, close-coupled. One of the few horizontal end-suction pumps that makes low flow at high pressure, so you aren't stuck with a vertical multistage. That matters on liquids that aren't clean water or glycol, such as wastewater.
Performance
Up to 220 gpm, 600 ft, 200°F and 300 psi
Applications
Process, boiler feed, condensate, sea water, water and wastewater
Repairs · optionsShaft kits, high temperature, NACE and self-priming
Shaft kits for STR, MTR/LTR and XLR frames.
Shaft kits: a couple hundred pre-built kits on the shelf with SKF bearings (oil-lubricated; Inpro or other isolators on request). Interchangeable with Goulds, Griswold and Summit. Swapping a pre-built kit and tightening three bolts often costs less than tearing down and inspecting a power end, so plants stock them.
High temperature: jacketed casings (steam jacket for liquids like asphalt that must stay hot), jacketed stuffing box covers and fin coolers.
NACE MR0175 materials for H2S service, on request. Some materials comply by default; others need a special pour, so ask before the order.
Self-priming ANSI: same power end with a self-priming casing.
Split seals can be done, but there's little room on small ANSI pumps. Rotech doesn't recommend them there.

Rotech now quotes with a four-week buffer for foundry and shipping delays. Packaged pumps are laser-aligned at the factory, and the alignment report is saved to the work order: useful if a customer says a pump "can't be aligned." Rotech's standard base is bent channel milled flat, with polymer concrete and fabricated skids as upgrades. We usually build our own bases.
In the recording: ANSI history and Goulds interchangeability from about 4:51, power ends and NSF 61 7:50, alloy lead times 9:44, shaft kits and high temperature 10:40, standard features 13:23, the 1296 14:16, base plates and alignment 18:48, low flow and NACE 23:37.
Part 3 · Trash pumps & self-primers
Gorman-Rupp interchangeable, in both directions
SPT/SXT: the Gorman-Rupp T and Super T equivalent.SPU/SXU: the U and Super U equivalent.
Higher-pressure boosting (five-vane impeller). Stocked 3″, 4″, 6″. Few competitors offer a Super U equivalent.
SCP / SFP
MP FlowMax-style pumps
Light-duty, economical self-primer: 1½″–3″, type 21 seal, up to about 25 ft suction lift. Good for recirculation and water/wastewater OEM skids, not harsh service.
Cutter plates are built in. Many lift stations want them: rags get cut up and passed, or cleared through the front cover.
Trash can be cleared and the rotating assembly removed without disturbing the piping.
Seals: TC/TC/Viton standard for abrasive liquid and sewage; custom seals for solvents like ketones, xylene and toluene.
Interchangeable with Gorman-Rupp parts and rotating assemblies, and dimensionally with Pioneer and others. A spare rotating assembly on the shelf is often cheaper than rebuilding. Rotech also runs refurbishment programs: send back the old pump, keep the major castings.
Coming: an upgrade from oil seals to bronze labyrinth seals to better protect the bearings, since oil seal failure is the usual reason these pumps die.
How to sell it against Gorman-Rupp
Lead withAvailability: pumps and rotating assemblies are stocked and often ship the same day. Then lower cost of ownership: ask how often they rebuild, and ask Rotech for case studies on maintenance savings. Rotech has displaced Gorman-Rupps at San Antonio Water System, one of the largest US municipal utilities, plus food plants such as Tyson and Cargill.
Lower the riskRemind the customer they aren't locked in. Gorman-Rupp parts fit the Rotech pump and Rotech parts fit the Gorman-Rupp, so a plant with existing Gorman-Rupps can keep one set of spares for both.
Other aftermarket competition: Pioneer (backed by Franklin Electric; strong in multistage and vacuum-assisted pumps), Summit and AllPrime. Rotech says it's at least even with them on delivery and better at packaging.
In the recording: trash pumps from about 24:39, replacing Gorman-Rupp at a treatment plant 27:27, other competitors 31:56, light-duty self-primers 34:03.
Part 4 · Split case & other lines
Split cases that drop into old footprints
RHS / RHSS split case pumps.
Sizes
Up to 24x30; larger on request. The slide shows 16,000 gpm; Rotech says up to about 50,000 gpm, and up to 700 ft with a two-stage pump.
Materials
Cast iron with stainless or bronze fittings, all stainless, duplex. Slide: cast iron, WCB, 316SS, CD4.
Bearings
External bearing housings: service bearings and seals without pulling the pump or lifting the top half
Seals
Double cartridge seals or gland packing
Mounting
Horizontal, or vertical with a cast-in pad (used on boats and in steel mills)
Lead time
About 22 weeks; about 28 weeks with a pattern rework. Most castings are made to order.
NSF 61
NSF coatings now; cast iron NSF approval comes after the end-suction certification
The Pattern Rework Program (PRP)
Rotech split cases aren't parts-interchangeable with anyone. Instead, Rotech changes its pattern so the new pump drops into the old footprint: moved feet, new bolt holes, adjusted height. It runs a CAD stress analysis and thickens ribs where needed. It's a paid service, but usually far cheaper than repiping an old station, where civil work alone can run into six figures. Rotech says it finds a close enough fit about nine times out of ten. It started with Worthington LR pumps that Flowserve stopped making interchangeable, and has since done Goulds and others.
New build? Keep it standard. Old station, no budget to repipe? Offer the PRP.
A win on lead time: at SSAB in Alabama, Rotech quoted 24 weeks against Goulds at 32 and Flowserve at 50, and won the split case job.
Other lines worth knowing
RVI80 vertical inline: a B&G Series 80 equivalent.RoChem: ISO 2858/5199 frame-mounted pumps.SCP/SFP light-duty self-primers.1600 series: tangential discharge for OEMs.
RVI80 vertical inline (equivalent to B&G Series 80) and vertical multistage pumps.
RoChem ISO 2858/5199 pumps: lighter and cheaper than ANSI but still with ANSI flanges. Up to 6,384 gpm, 450 ft and 662°F. Frame-mounted, close-coupled, or a hot oil version with a finned bearing frame. They share the casing and impeller across all three, so a plant can keep common spares.
1600 series: close-coupled, semi-open impeller, 56C motor, and a discharge that rotates in 90° steps. Built for OEM skids; sold as a pump, pump end or kit.
In the recording: vertical inline, ISO, hot oil and 1600 from about 35:07, split case and PRP 37:08, the SSAB win 40:57, retrofit flexibility 42:38, split case NSF 44:18.
Part 5 · Working with Rotech
Curves on PumpFlo, inquiries to one inbox
The Rotech storefront on PumpFlo.
PumpFlo: Rotech's curves are on PumpFlo, and anyone can sign up, distributor or not. Give access to plant and consulting engineers so they can change flow, head and speed themselves and print data sheets. Then we size and quote from there.
New tool by year-end: upload a curve, then configure, price and get delivery and a full technical data sheet in one place.
Inquiries: send them to sales@rotechpumps.com. A group of applications engineers works the requests, and our Rotech contact handles major project support. Contacts are in the vendor portal.
Orders: send to orders@rotechpumps.com and copy the Rotech sales rep and the inside rep who handled the quote. Put the Rotech quotation number on the PO. If you order straight from the price list or website, wait for Rotech's lead time and instructions.
Ways to buy: pump ends, kits, pumps with seal installed and tested, or full packages. Whatever makes sense for the job.
Made in Canada and India. For jobs that require US manufacturing, Rotech partners with a fully equipped CNC shop next to its Houston facility.
How to send inquiries and orders.
Give feedback. Rotech says fast response is its whole go-to-market strategy and asked us to "keep them honest." If a quote or answer is slow, tell them so they can fix it.
Rotech wants partners who know pumps and ask the right application questions before ordering, because a new brand gets one chance to fix a mistake. Our side of it: we sell solutions, not just pumps, and Rotech's broad line, lead times and pricing give reps more options in every vertical.
In the recording: working together from about 46:28, Houston training and manufacturing 54:40, PumpFlo and new tools 56:24, how to send inquiries and orders 57:31.
